We remain committed to inspiring long term transformational change in Shoreditch.
Investing in the people that make up our community is integral to achieving such change. Whilst the community activity delivered through the New Deal for Communities programme has contributed to improvement across a range of social indicators, the need for further progress towards our goal of achieving social inclusion for those most marginalised. Addressing this need often means correcting market failure or providing services in a way that reacts to gaps in statutory service provision. Such projects are not expected to become self-sufficient or transform into social enterprise, however this does not mean that the outcomes they deliver are any less worthwhile. These projects represent valuable community investment and in doing so seek to influence the reshaping of approaches to service delivery in the future.
