Our History

Shoreditch Trust aims to improve the quality of life of local residents by promoting opportunities and experiences that facilitate enjoyment, enrichment and raised aspirations.

We seek to enrich our existing programmes and boost their effectiveness through engagement activities. These activities foster team-building; promote improved communication skills, confidence and social skills; and contribute to community-building and resilience.

For our client groups, appropriately supported access to training and mentoring often enables more effective engagement with our programmes and with their peers, mentors and staff. The working and learning environment is thus improved, creating an increase in:
productivity (skills, training and qualifications)
through-put (numbers of clients completing courses or periods of support successfully and making transitions to independent living and employment).

Our Learning for Life programmes include working with young people and adults who are disengaged from the labour market to offer work-based training opportunities. The skills we teach are beneficial in key growth industries including catering, the creative economy and the public health sector. We also work with children and young people to develop interest and skills in creative and cultural areas.
