Despite baking temperatures of 35C, brave Waterhouse chefs and staff from Shoreditch Trust provided a fantastic barbecue at the 'Our Homes' Festival last weekend, running alongside Hoxton Street Market Summer Fair.
The team rustled up celebratory meals for 400 Hackney residents in 2 hours, and much needed cooling homemade lemonade.
Staff and volunteers were on hand to share information about our peer support for pregnant women, young people's catering training scheme, services for survivors of stroke and creative support for people overcoming mental health problems.
It was great to see old friends and new, including Hackney Playbus and the Pearly Queen herself!
Thank you to Hackney Council for such an inspiring day.
