Bite Back 2030 takeover

02 November 2021

Over the summer a team of young people at Shoreditch Trust have been working on ideas to make the food environment in their community healthier.

As a Pilot group for Bite Back's Community Food Champions programme, the young people took part in workshops and activities to map the local food environment, meet key decision makers and explore their own interests and expertise. The group shared many opinions about food systems, advertising, environmental concerns and food deserts. The outcome of all their work over the summer is a campaign to improve meat-free offers for young people and families in Hackney.

To launch their campaign the young chefs are taking over the WaterHouse restaurant in Haggerston from the 1st – 5th November. The dishes they created will be showcased as specials throughout the week (see attached menu for details). We would love you to come and sample some of these dishes and give your feedback to the young chefs before they take their campaign to the next stage.

The WaterHouse is a social enterprise training restaurant at 10 Orsman Road, N1 5QJ and opens Monday-Friday from 9-3.

We hope to see some of you there during the week.
