Bite Back 2030

Our aim is to achieve a world where all young people have the opportunity to be healthy, no matter where they live.

Bite Back2

Bite Back is partnering up with Shoreditch Trust to improve food for young people.

The health of all of us is being compromised by a flood of unhealthy food, pouring out of our highstreets, our supermarket shelves and our school canteens. Millions are being spent on advertising unhealthy food making sure it plays a starring role in young people’s minds.  As a result the health of 3.3 million children is now at risk from overweight and obesity and the UK has the worst childhood obesity rates in Western Europe.

We are here for young people who want to know the truth about how the food system is designed; how we can redesign it to put young people’s health first; and build a powerful alliance that will help make that redesign a reality.

At the heart of Bite Back 2030 is our Youth Board - a team of passionate teenage activists from across the UK who are campaigning for more opportunities to be healthy - and they would love you to join them!

We want to build a movement of young people who can get the big players in business and government to listen and act on a very important topic - your right to health.

Campaigns:

  • Free School Meals - Fighting for a permanent solution for Free School Meal provision in the holidays for 1.4 million eligible children.
  • Feed Britain Better -  Feed Britain Better is a youth-led coalition where Bite Back convened leading NGOs to bring young people together with the leaders of the food system to commit to change.
  • #SaveOurStandardsTrade deals could be the biggest thing to change the game for child health in decades.
  • The 9pm TV WatershedAfter months of campaigning by our incredible Youth Board, in July 2020 the Prime Minister announced tough new measures on how and when junk food can be advertised.
